Dune Grass

We are an energetic traditional bluegrass band with a twist, formed in 2015 and originally comprised of Ken Zimmer (upright bass), Lorie Quinn (mandolin), RoseAnne Davis (fiddle), Peggy Gaber-Casey (fiddle), and Bob Casey (guitar). After playing together for a short time, Ken’s life long friends and previous Mountainside band mates, Bob Gelormine (guitar/banjo) and Jerry Eckhoff (guitar) joined Dune Grass rounding out the sound and adding their beautiful harmonies.

Plain and simply, we just have fun and love playing together!

Dune Grass has played locally at several festivals and events as well as on the stages of Albert Music Hall in Waretown and BOTMA (Bluegrass Old-Time Music Association) in Little Silver, NJ.

Heidi Olsen of WBZC 88.9 FM bluegrass radio says,

Peggy Gaber-Casey (fiddle) comes from a classical background playing violin since 4th grade in orchestras from grade school through college. She played overseas in Europe, South Pacific and South America with the Long Island Youth Orchestra - and later, locally with the New Jersey State Orchestra. She's currently a long-time second violinist with Monmouth Symphony Orchestra who recently morphed into bluegrass and old time fiddle as a founding member of Dune Grass in 2015.

Bob C. - Acoustic Guitar and Vocals

He has been a long-time fan of Bluegrass music. He started out playing guitar in Hootenannys and peace rallies in Minneapolis, Minnesota during the late 1960's - then kid's songs to his daughters in the 1990's - and now has a newfound love of being in a band and playing Bluegrass music as a founding member of Dune Grass.
